Nordstrom announced today a noticeable increase of men who are casting off the economic doom and gloom by an increased purchase of accessories–most notably brand name men’s watches. Men have returned to the retail market and are increasingly buying watches by the likes of Invicta, Swiss Legend, Armani watches and more. In fact, the mall-favorite department store has suggested that demand for men’s accessories including men’s watches, cuff links and belts, is likely to reach a 20-year high in the first quarter of 2012.
Watches and accessories are popular purchases because they can lend a different flair to a simple look, such as a basic jeans and tee ensemble. As a result, many designer brands have seen a major increase in demand for accessories including watches, sunglasses and jewelry. Traditionally the domain of women, the men’s accessory market–particularly designer men’s watches–is now experiencing a boom.
