The ad published by her political party, stated, “May The Forth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations.”
The month of May holds great significance for Star Wars fans, since the legendary first film and the five that followed all debuted during the month of May. In addition, director George Lucas, who created the Star Wars saga was born on May 14, 1944.
In 2011, Star Wars Day was first celebrated in Toronto, Ontario Canada in early May. A year later the second annual Star Wars Day was celebrated on May 4, 2012. After acquiring the Star Wars franchise and licensing in late 2012, the Walt Disney made May 4th the official Star Wars Day at its theme parks in California, Florida, Paris and Tokyo with Star Wars related events and celebrations.
Last year on May 4, 2015 astronauts on the International Space Station celebrated Star Wars Day watching the first film of the series, the 1977 release Star Wars: A New Hope.
