Hamilton watches are renowned for being true legendary American timepieces. The brand was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, PA and was one of the largest producers of Railroad watches in the early 1900’s.

Hamilton was commissioned by the US military for wristwatches worn by servicemen during both World War I and World War II. Notably, more than 1 million watches were shipped to troops overseas during the Second World War… a time when the production of consumer watches was halted by brand to exclusively produce timepieces for the US Army and Navy along with other allied Navies as well.

The brand’s Models 21 and 22 automatic marine chronometers were used by both the US Navy and Army for their precise time-keeping accuracy, as well as two-day power reserve capacities.

In 1957, Hamilton introduced the world’s first electric watch movement: the Hamilton Electric 500. The movement was featured in the brand’s Ventura collection, a series featuring cutting-edge  asymmetrical  shaped cases on leather straps.

The Hamilton Ventura watch garnered widespread attention and popularity a few years later when Elvis Presley wore one in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii. The Ventura watch catapulted Hamilton to worldwide acclaim after the film was released  and is still in production today. In fact two of the watch styles in the collection are named the Elvis80.

In recent years, film stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans wore Hamilton Khaki watches in the 2013 blockbuster film The Avengers, while Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Emma Thompson sported Hamilton Ventura watches in the 2013 film Men In Black.
