NamaSTAY in Bed…

Yep, this was what I used to think at the mention of yoga in my presence – NamaSTAY in bed. I have always HATED working out. I danced throughout my whole childhood (ballet, jazz, acro), but as teenager and adult I was more about the fries and big macs than the jumping jacks. It’s not like I never tried, believe me I have. I tried running and it makes my heart feel like it’s going to jump out of my chest and I also kind of want to kill myself the entire time I’m doing it. I took a Pilates class once…

Swiss Legend… Back with a Vengeance.

Swiss Legend just released three new collections and THEY ARE EPIC. 100% Swiss-made and 100% badass. Let’s check ’em out… Time Traveler I’ll start with this incredibly crafted collection. It lives up to its name with dual-time-zone subdials that allow the traveling man to keep time in two places at once. The multi-layered main dial is marked “HOME” with hour, minute and second hands as well as a large date disc. The smaller, rotary-style dial functions as the second time zone with stationary hardware and two rotating discs that display the hour and minutes. Another unique feature is that each subdial has a corresponding asymmetrical crown…

Fresh Finds Under $50

A chic watch AND a pair of sunglasses for under $100? THAT is unheard of! But it’s real and it’s happening on WorldofWatches.com today through Wednesday. And this sale seriously has something for everyone. A great assortment of brands and styles so you can find the sunnies and watch that are meant for you this Spring. I’ve taken the liberty of pairing some together for your convenience. Of course they can be bought separately, but we all know two is better than one.                     I recognize this first pairing is technically women’s sunglasses and…

What Women Want…

…In a watch, that is. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to help any fellas figure out that age old question today. Even though it’s probably a simple answer like sleep or wine or sex. Anyway, I’m sure there are women out there that collect watches and care about the movement and complication when they’re shopping for one. But most women I know or have spoken to about watches, actually just care about the look, feel and/or brand and price point. So let’s talk about each of those, shall we? Get The Look Start with the basics: Are you a leather, bracelet, canvas or rubber…

Green Beer, Anyone?

I’d love a green beer right about now or even a regular-colored beer. I won’t be picky. Even a Guinness will do and that’s hard for me to stomach since it has the consistency of a milkshake. I will take an Irish Car Bomb though. Actually, that should be mandatory if you have to be at work on St. Patrick’s Day. Irish Car Bombs during lunch. #YAS I think I’m on to something. I wonder if HR will approve this… Okay I’ll stop fantasizing about drinking at work and save that for happy hour tomorrow. Did you know St. Patrick’s…

More YOLO, Less FOMO

Right click, open new tab. Right click, open new tab. This is my life while online shopping. Does anyone else do this? I need make sure I don’t lose my place on my main page while at the same time opening  up every possibility that remotely interests me in a new tab. From there it’s another long process of switching back and forth between all my tabs, comparing and trying to eliminate options until I’m left with the items that make it to my cart. Phase 3 typically includes me realizing that my cart is still way too expensive and I’ll have to get rid of…

Happy International Women’s Day

International Women's Day

Being the only female writer on staff at the WorldofWatches blog (and by “on staff” I mean “volunteer blogger that comes and goes as she pleases”), I felt the need to write a little something today. Really though, I was totally inspired by Google’s homepage doodle video. So, as it turns out, March 8th used to be called “International Working Women’s Day.” I’m quite pleased with the change to “International Women’s Day” because ALL women, not just working women, deserve to be celebrated for their achievements. But this day is not just about appreciating the social, economic, cultural and political accomplishments of women. It’s also about recognizing…

I See a Full Moon Rising…

Lunar Update: Hi, I’m back and talking about the moon again. I promise I’ll take a break on the topic after this… Moon Phase Watches. They’re my latest obsession. Combining my love for the moon and my love for watches and conveniently placing it on my wrist. These are among the most highly sought-after luxury timepieces in the world today. They’re available with mechanical, automatic and quartz movements and are magical because they follow the progression of the moon through her different phases… from new moon, first quarter through full moon to final quarter. A watch with a moon phase feature displays the phases of the moon…

Wedding Season is Upon Us…

Wedding Party Watches

But if you’re like me, it feels like wedding season is eternal. I gotta deal with the year-round nuptials, I’m just at that age. All my friends are getting married and it doesn’t look like there’s any end in sight. I love how I’m talking about this as if I’m not contributing to the problem, but helloooo I’m getting married next year. In my head, I thought I was going to be walking down the aisle in like 5 years maybe, but my future husband completely derailed that plan when he proposed to me in the middle of a Dave Matthews Band…

Women’s Fashion Week Trends

womens fashion week

The adage that Watch Lover mentioned in his Men’s Fashion Week recap: If you stick around long enough, everything old is new again certainly holds true for Women’s Fashion Week 2016. Retro-inspired styles from the Victorian age, 1970’s and 1990’s are making a comeback in many of the designer’s Fall and Winter collections. We’re seeing a lot of puffy sleeves, ruffled hemlines and high-collar necklines from the Victorian age. Oh, and lots and lots of head-to-toe floral prints. Not the biggest fan of this trend, but to each her own. The 70’s band babe was also heavily represented on the…
